Our 4-night stay at Old Oaks Touring Park in Glastonbury was a fantastic experience. The site is beautifully maintained, offering spacious pitches and immaculate facilities, including individual washrooms with a shower, loo, and sink, just like home. We loved using our East Oak Table Top Fire Pit on the pitch and enjoyed a delicious pizza from an on-site vendor one evening. The direct walking track to Glastonbury Tor and the town was a great bonus, making exploration easy and enjoyable. With stunning surroundings, cozy glamping pods (which our family loved), and thoughtful touches throughout, Old Oaks is a peaceful haven.

Access
The Old Oaks website has detailed routes to take for your approach to the site, which was very useful. As the site is on a narrow-ish lane, it’s important to adhere to the arrive times so you don’t meet those departing. The lane is winding in parts, however there are plenty of passing places. We arrived from the north/M5, going around the top Glastonbury using the bypass.
Pitch & Costs
£51.75 per night on a Premier Pitch.
Our Premier Pitch was a large hardstanding with fresh water tap and grey waste drain. We also had a grassed area and a patio area with a wooden bench and a fire pit. Most pitches are separated by hedges.
What we thought
After hearing so many glowing reviews about Old Oaks Touring Park in Glastonbury, we decided to book a 4-night stay as part of our journey down to Cornwall. Let me tell you, it absolutely lived up to the hype!
From the moment we arrived, it was clear this site is something special. Tucked away in the Somerset countryside, Old Oaks is an adults-only haven, perfect for relaxing and recharging. While the lane leading up to the site is a bit narrow in places, there are plenty of passing places, and we never had any issues towing the caravan.
A Warm Welcome and Beautiful Pitches
We stayed on a spacious hardstanding Premier Pitch, which was level and came with all the conveniences, electric hook-up, water, and waste points right there. One feature we loved was being able to have a fire pit on the pitch. Although the pitch came with a Solo Stove fire pit, we brought along our East Oak Table Top Fire Pit, and it was the perfect addition to our evenings. There’s just something magical about sitting outside with the fire glowing, sipping a glass of wine under the stars.
The site itself is immaculate, with beautifully landscaped grounds and stunning countryside views. You can tell a lot of care goes into keeping it looking so lovely.
Fantastic Facilities for Everyone
The facilities at Old Oaks are some of the best we’ve ever experienced. The shower and toilet blocks are spotless, and we especially loved the individual washrooms. Each private room has a loo, shower, and sink, just like home. There’s also a fully equipped communal kitchen and laundry area, which is super handy.
We had family staying in one of the on-site glamping pods, and they couldn’t stop raving about it. The pod was cozy, well-equipped, and gave them a great mix of comfort and outdoor charm.
Exploring Glastonbury from the Site
One of the things we loved about Old Oaks was the direct walking track from the rear of the site to Glastonbury Tor and the town. It didn’t take long to get there, and the walk itself was beautiful. After taking in the views from the Tor and exploring the unique charm of Glastonbury, we were glad to retreat to the peace and quiet of the park.
Delicious Pizza Night
One evening, we treated ourselves to pizza from an on-site vendor, and it was absolutely delicious. There’s something so convenient about having food trucks visit, especially when you’re in holiday mode and don’t want to cook!
Connectivity and Convenience
For those wondering about connectivity, we didn’t use the site’s Wi-Fi because the 5G signal was strong enough to stream TV effortlessly. However, it’s worth noting that the 4G signal on EE was a bit patchy, so if you’re relying on that, you might find it slower.
Final Thoughts
Old Oaks Touring Park is easily one of the best sites we’ve stayed at. From the stunning countryside location and pristine facilities to thoughtful touches like the fire pits and private washrooms, it truly feels like a home away from home.
If you’re looking for a relaxing break with top-notch facilities and plenty to explore nearby, Old Oaks should be at the top of your list.
